THE RECOGNISED STORY

May in review

It’s been a month of newness, celebration and community and we’ve loved every minute of it.

Looking back on May fills me with much joy. Following a few months of cold, dark weather in the U.K and a challenging retail environment, the sunshine of May arrived and with it came new found hope and lightness.

The month started at The Gift of the Year Awards, the most highly respected industry accolades, aimed at recognising the best new products, talent and inspiration in the industry each year. We got suited and booted and spent the night celebrating how far we’ve come as a business and every gift of recognition which has been given with every piece of Recognised jewellery purchased. It was a magical evening and to top it off, Recognised we’re awarded Highly Commended Honors for our category.

May also marks Mental Health Awareness Week in the U.K and this year coincided with our 5th year supporting Mental Health through the Dove Popon®. It was incredible to look back and see the impact our community has helped to create over the last 5 years and how each Popon purchase has made a difference. 2231 Dove Popons® have been purchased, raising over £16,000 for our charity partners, funding projects that come alongside those facing their hardest moments. Find out more here.

During the same week we launched the You are Enough Popon in support of Female Empowerment Popon. Words which are just as fitting for Mental Health as they are for Female Empowerment. It was the perfect week to launch! We gathered at Luminary Bakery, drank fizz, ate stunning cakes made by the women of Luminary and Explored the concepts of value worth and belonging. During the evening we encouraged women to write a letter of encouragement to one another to take home at the end of the evening. This was a personal highlight for me and I was so moved to read my letter the following morning which said ‘you are known, you are loved, you are enough’, words Joel and I try to say to each other every day.

We also visited Vogue this month and had the opportunity of showcasing the full Recognised range, including our new female empowerment Popons to their team. As always, wherever we go, there are always moments of recognition, which remind us of our purpose and how personal our Statement Popons® are. One woman purchased a Recognised Letter in memory of her father who she recently lost to cancer.

I’ll never take lightly the honor it is to hear people's stories. These moments which remind you once again, that everyone, everywhere has a story that needs to be heard and recognised. That recognition is waiting in every room, in every moment, just waiting for someone to ask, to show they care, to listen, to love, to be there.
